As a therapist, it is an honor and privilege to accompany others through this part of their life journey. Sometimes individuals need a compassionate and objective listener to share their discomforts, sorrows and challenges. During therapy, the intent is for the client to develop self-understanding and skills to successfully meet life's challenges. This begins with unconditional love and acceptance of self and is particularly powerful when the client is willing to take responsibility for themselves and their choices.

During counseling, clients are guided in separating their self-worth from their behaviors and choices. Goal-directed activities are designed to help form healthy self-images and teach useful problem-solving skills.

We believe in compassionate, active listening and engage with clients through traditional talk therapy as well as experiential therapies designed to get clients moving and doing. That might involve walking, hiking, expressive arts, play therapy and nature-based therapy.

We also specialize in working with children, adolescents and adults who are highly sensitive. Helping people discover the gifts of this personality trait and create balance in their lives empowers individuals to thrive.

Groups

Groups are a powerful way to promote healing through relationship building, both with nature and with community/others. Groups are offered at both the Fort Collins office and at Wilder-Nest Retreats. The setting at Wilder-Nest Retreats provides a unique opportunity for retreats based on reconnecting and partnering with nature and eco-art healing activities.

Locations

The Fort Collins office is a home-based, private office in north Fort Collins and offers traditional office work, expressive arts, and play therapy for all age groups. The foothills office, located at Wilder-Nest Retreats near Masonville, offers traditional office work, equine therapy, nature-based therapy, and retreats. This office is located on 100 acres— set against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Loveland, Colorado.
